Conference on Nationalism in Amsterdam

This week I will be in Amsterdam at the conference ”Cultural mobilization: Cultural consciousness-raising and national movements in Europe and the world”. It is a three-day event with lots of interesting program, a key note ”The Herderian Explosion” from John Hutchinson among other things. I will talk on Friday about one of the main characters of my dissertation with the title ”Relational masculine self-construction and nationalist activities: Linguist Herman Kellgrenʼs personal nationalism in 19th-century Finland”. It is supposed to be over 20 degrees in Amsterdam and I don’t mind that either; a little bit of summer before it really ends.
